Roster of Hartline men in the Revolutionary War

George Hartlein, born 1732 in Germany, was in the Pennsylvania militia as a private during the Revolutionary War.

John Hartline, C Company, 2nd Battalion. Philadelphia Militia 1787, 1788, commanded by Lt. Col. James Read, Esq. Vol. III, page 1039 & 1050.

Jacob Hartlein, born July 30, 1758, lived in the Oley Mountains, until 1774 when his family moved to York County, Pennsylvania. In the fall of 1781, Jacob was enlisted in the Revolutionary army in Shepherds Town Virginia by Lieutenant Swartz and continued in service until the end of the war. He was discharged in York, Pennsylvania by General Armond. Captain Barone de Uechtritz commanded the Company to which he was attached, and Major Shaefner commanded the regiment.

Lorenz Herdlein, born 1734 Private  7th Class, in Captain Lentz’s Company, Berks Co. Revolutionary war Soldiers, March 1777-1780.

George Hartline born 1794 was an Ensign in the Georgia Militia in Henry County, GA 1828. Index of GA Archives Military records.

Adam Lester Hartline, Iredell County, NC, joined Roster of Co E, 11th Reg. October 27, 1864.

David Levi Hartline of Iredell County, NC joined confederate army February 26, 1862 and was wounded at Gettysburg, PA.

William Sanford Hartline, born 1845, Cherokee Co., AL, was a PVT in 1864, in Captain Clifton’s Co., Barbiere’s Battalion, AL Calvary.

John P. Hartline born 1825, Cherokee, Co., AL, served in “F” Co., 34th GA Infantry, captured in Vicksburg, MS.

George Washington Hartline, born 1833, served in “G” Co., 19th AL Infantry, Army of the Mississippi, joined September 26, 1861. Fought in the battle of Shiloh, died in the Confederate Hospital in Granada, MS, June 3, 1862, possible from measles epidemic.

George William Hartline, born 1843, Cherokee County, Alabama, fought in the Civil War, “K” Co., 10th Reg. GA State Troops, December 16, 1861 to May 17, 1862, then “F” Co., 34th Reg. GA Infantry.

Henry Sims Hartline, born 1834, Cherokee County, AL, served in “G” 19th AL Infantry, Army of the Mississippi, enlisting in Huntsville, AL. Fought in Battle of Shiloh, wounded in the head and captured April 6, 1862.

Peter L. Hartline, born 1828, Cherokee Co., AL, entered “G” 19th AL Infantry September 26, 1861, fought in Battle of Shiloh, and captured in Jonesboro, Georgia, September 23, 1864.

Robert H. Hartline, born 1838, served as Pvt. in “G” 19th AL Infantry, fought in Battle of Shiloh, discharged July 12, 1862.

James A. Hartline born 1841, Berks County, PA, served in Co “C” 167 Regt, Pennsylvania Volunteers.

John Hartline born 1837, Berks County, PA, served in Co. A, 7th Regt. PA Calvary.

Daniel Hartline, born 1841, Berks County, PA, Civil War Union soldier, member of Co. H, 51st Reg. PA.

Benjamin Franklin Hartline, born 1835, was 1st Lt. on August 15, 1862, Co. “C,” 109th Regt., IL Voluntary Infantry, Anna, IL, promoted to Captain Feb 2, 1863, discharged April 10, 1863 at Lake Providence, Louisiana.

World War I

Arthur Douglas Hartline, born March 8, 1894, Denton, Texas.  Arthur served in United States Army in WW I.

William Emmett Hartline born 1920, served in the U. S. Army during “Battle of the Bulge” during WWII. He was in the U. S. Army for 22 years.

World War II

James Benjamin Hartline of Mt. Holly Springs, PA served in WW II in the United States Air Force (Guam in the Marianas for ten months.)

Ora James Hartline, born 1908, Dekalb County, AL, served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WW II.

Roy C. Hartline, Iredell County, NC was a PFC in Co. L 363 Inc. United States Army, WW II, BSM-PH. Died September 13, 1944.

Pvt. Albert W. Hartline, born April 5, 1905, died February 7, 1970, served in Co H, 55 Armored Infantry, United States Army, WW II, buried Casper Cemetery, Union County, Illinois.

Roy Rennive Hartline born March 28, 1896 was a mechanic in Battery B-338 Field Artillery, United States Army, won a purple heart.

John David Samuel Hartline was an officer in the United States Army.

Willard Jackson Bellomy (so of Cora Hartline) served in the United States Army.

William Emmett Hartline born 1920, served in the United States Army for twenty-two years and died in military hospital Ft. Sam Houston, TX.

Clyde Vernon Hartline, Sr. born 1922, Plano, TX, served in the U. S. Navy during WW II.

Rick Acton Hartline, born 1926, Homer, GA, served in the U. S. Navy Air Corps during WW II.
