(1931-2015)


Joseph Marion Hartline was born in McCormick, South Carolina, November 29, 1931, a son of Roy Lee “Tom” and Mary Sue Watkins Hartline. He married Faye Montjoy.

      Deborah Hartline, Married Rabbit King of Laurens, S.C.

      Thomas Hartline, married Ginger, live Henderson, N.C.

Faye Montjoy Hartline died and Joseph married Brenda Gambrell Madden.

Joe was a veteran of the South Carolina National Guard and retired from Torrington. He was a member and deacon at Northside Baptist Church, a member of Gideon International and Fleming Mill Christian Bluegrass Band. He was an avid hunter and co-founder of L & M Hunting Club with his brother Claude. Joe was a passionate Christian and always helped other.

Joseph Marion Hartline died Monday, March 9, 2015 and was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors.

Hubert H. “Herb” Hartline (1) A
(1933-2001)

Hubert H. “Herb” Hartline was born June 25, 1933 in Vienna, Illinois, son of Charles and Emma (Sowers) Hartline. He married Yvonne Williams on July 4, 1952 in West Frankfort, Illinois and they resided inWhitefish and Butte, Montana and later moved to Embarrass, Minnesota in 1965. Herb was employed as a coal miner, “tuck pointer.” He later worked as an ironworker out of Duluth Minnesota. Herb sas a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a hunter, a well-respected fisherman and guide and an avid gardener. He was a pilot and loved to fly his own plane.

      Kendall Hartline, married Pam of Eveleth.

      Mary Sue Hartline, married Paul Sutherland of Hammondsport, N. Y.

      James Hartline, married Terri of Prior Lake, Minnesota.

Paul Allen Hartline (1) A
(1928-2009)

Paul Allen Hartline, was born October 23, 1928 in Akron Ohio, son of Harold Allen and Ella Elizabeth (Allebach) Hartline. He graduated from Akron Central High School and worked in the grocery business from age thirteen until retirement. He married Lucille, who preceded him in death.

Children:

      John Hartline of Independence, Oregon.

      Cathy Hartline, married Kaiser, lived in Salem, Oregon.

      April Hartline, of Salem, Oregon.

He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and talking politics.

Paul Allen Hartline of Salem, Oregon, formerly of Independence, Oregon, died of cancer on October 7, 2009 at age 80.

William Dewey Hartline (1) A    
(1905-1991)

William Dewey Hartline born in Texas, December 31, 1905, a son of Moses Newton Hartline (1870) and wife Betty (Poteet) Hartline (1881). William Dewey Hartline married Georgia Estelle Orlds, born March 18, 1905.

      Oristene Hartline, born 1927, married Mr. Potts. Oristene died in 2013.

      William D. Hartline, born 1929, died 2007.

      Malcolm Joyce Hartline, born 1931, married Mr. Potts. Joyce died 1961.

William Dewey Hartline died October 11, 1991 in Grayson County, Texas. Georgia Estelle Orlds died February 25, 2001. Both are buried at Colbert Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Colbert, Bryan County, Oklahoma. Bethlehem Section.

Nellie Beatrice Hartline (1) A

Nellie Beatrice Hartline was born February 4, 1922, a daughter of John Marvin (1880) and Ellen Elizabeth (Gilreath) Hartline. Nellie lived with her parents until they both passed away and then married Warren Gilliland, born July 30, 1922, whom she had known for a long time.

They had no children.

Warren and Nellie lived near Buck’s Pocket at Groveoak, Jackson County, Alabama, atop Sand Mountain.

Nellie’s father was a Church of God minister, establishing a large number of churches in North Alabama. They moved very frequently.

Nellie was the youngest of eight children. One of her brothers, Ora J. Hartline, wrote a story of his early life that is very interesting and it tells about the time that she was born.

Warren Gilliland died at 90, August 26, 2012. Nellie is staying in a rehab facility in Crossville, AL.
